Meet the Wong Family

Phil and Kristin met at the University of Michigan, were married after graduation, and then drove their little Ford Escort over the Rocky Mountains in a move from Ann Arbor, Michigan to San Diego, California. After Phil’s two years of graduate school, we spent an adventurous year in Shanghai, China, teaching English to college students and teachers, and learning a lot about living cross-culturally.

After these travels we returned to Ann Arbor. Phil settled in to work as an engineer, we started putting roots down at Knox Presbyterian Church, and the Lord graciously brought children to our family.

Our daughters came to us by birth. Kathryn is our reflective, artistic reader. Clara is a loving, bouncy gymnast.

Our sons were born in Vietnam and came to us by adoption. Benjamin is athletic and crazy about anything medieval. Josiah is affectionate, cheerful and social.

We talked about adoption very early in our marriage, on that trip from Michigan from California. We were always drawn to the idea of adopting children, but didn't know what a life-changing journey it would be. We are immensely thankful for the many ways adoption has enriched our lives.

The “Us” in “About Us” includes supportive extended families on both sides, and a church body that loves and teaches us wonderfully. We would not be where we are without them.

We have been abundantly blessed by God. Through this website, we seek to share that blessing.
