I would like to invite you to become an advocate for The Little Girl.
The Little Girl is an illustrated children's book about a Chinese bachelor who adopts an abandoned baby girl. He raises her and experiences the joys and trials of fatherhood. As the little girl grows up, the father realizes that he can't take care of his daughter forever. So he arranges a marriage for her. He suffers through a deep time of loneliness but in the end he is rewarded.
The illustrations are beautiful and it's our pleasure to invite you to preview
The Little Girl
who represents all the girls of China who are threatened by abortion, abandonment or a life of deprivation in an orphanage. The goal of the book is to turn the hearts of fathers and mothers to their daughters. I dream that this book will influence Chinese culture and in coming generations, help equalize the gender imbalance. The first edition of The Little Girl will be in English. We plan to distribute the second Chinese edition in China.
What does it mean to advocate for The Little Girl?
Advocates will spread news of The Little Girl to family and friends in their relational network. To equip you with confidence and with compelling knowledge of the situation in China, I will send “The Advocate” once a week for seven weeks. Each of these short email messages will include:
- The author's reflections on the illustrations and story line of The Little Girl,
- Facts about the situation in China and
- Suggestions for advocacy, including action items and prayer points.
These suggestions for advocacy will not require much time but will fit into “doing life” as usual. Sign up below!
I hope each of you experiences the deep satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of the little girls of China who cannot speak for themselves - and not only their lives but the lives of their fathers, mothers and future husbands and children. We are not a big publisher with a big marketing budget. We are hopeful that your partnership will spread the word. I invite you to make this a grassroots movement of advocacy for precious, vulnerable girls!
Sincerely in Christ,
Phil Wong
